Indians settled abroad are generally viewed as the ones who have made it and have attained the ultimate success with respect to careers and worldly possessions. But what we do not often realize is what they have to sacrifice for this success. They give up the mother land, the cultural milieu and are for ever stuck in an alien culture. For many pravasi Indians, bodies remain in their adopted countries but hearts are left behind in India, wandering in the by lanes of the cities and villages they left behind.
