Geeta-Kavita site is becoming popular and its readership is growing fast. I feel happy at this interest of Hindi readers, which certainly motivates me to find even more poems for the readers. Running this site has been a unique experience for me. Many readers at times ask me the meanings of certain poems and I explain to the extent I can. I generally select those poems for Geeta-Kavita whose meanings or at least impressions may not be beyond the comprehension of a large proportion of todays readers of Hindi poetry. There are two basic reasons why readers may find it difficult to understand some poems. Firstly, thanks to the poor Hindi education in our schools these days, Hindi vocabulary of many readers is not what it should be. In addition, some contemporary Hindi poems may be too complex reflecting the intricate and enigmatic thought process of todays poets. This short article is meant to provide some thoughts on this issue. Readers comments are welcome at rajivksaxena@gmail.com - Rajiv Krishna Saxena
