ढूंढते रह जाओगे – अरुण जैमिनी

Times are changing fast. So many things we witnessed in our childhood appear to have vanished now. Soon many other old and traditional things will vanish. Our next generation will not ever see many things and traditions we saw. For example, when we were young children, we were experts in lighting an angithee. Our children may not have even see an angithee. We used to go to dairy early in the morning and get milk freshly milked in front of us. Today we get poly-packs of milk. There is a bittersweet sense of loss when we see things so familiar to us, vanish. Here is excerpt from a lovely poem by Arun Jamini. He lists some amazing items that we sure would lose very soon. ढूंढते रह जाओगे

चीजों में कुछ चीजें
बातों में कुछ बातें वो होंगी
जिन्हें कभी देख न पाओगे
इक्कीसवीं सदी में
ढूंढते रह जाओगे

बच्चों में बचपन
जवानी में यौवन
शीशों में दरपन
जीवन में सावन
गाँव में अखाड़ा
शहर में सिंघाड़ा
टेबल की जगह पहाड़ा
और पायजामें में नाड़ा
ढूंढते रह जाओगे

चूड़ी भरी कलाई
शादी में शहनाई
आंखों में पानी
दादी की कहानी
प्यार के दो पल
नल ­नल में जल
तराजू में बट्टा
और लड़कियों का दुपट्टा
ढूंढते रह जाओगे

गाता हुआ गाँव
बरगद की छाँव
किसान का हल
मेहनत का फल
चहकता हुआ पनघट
लम्बा लम्बा घूंघट
लज्जा से थरथराते होंठ
और पहलवान का लंगोट
ढूंढते रह जाओगे

आपस में प्यार
भरा पूरा परिवार
नेता ईमानदार
दो रुपए उधार
सड़क किनारे प्याऊ
संबेधन में चाचा ताऊ
परोपकारी बंदे
और अरथी को कंधे
ढूंढते रह जाओगे
